All those components that are involved in the technology of extracting the properties of fluids in order to generate control, and transmit power are called as fluid power components. They acts in the desired manner as a result of the pressurization of fluids. They can be applied either to gases and liquids and works with a pump driven by a prime mover. These fluid power components convert mechanical energy to fluid energy and are used to trigger an element that is specifically designed to operate from the flow provided. In layman's term these are those devices that use pressurized air, water, gas, or special fluids for power transmission. Types of Fluid Power Components
There are two most commonly applicable varieties of fluid power devices available. One is the Hydraulic equipment and components that comprise of those products that installs high pressure hydraulic fluid to various parts of the machine through various
hydraulic motors and
hydraulic cylinders. They control the fluid from the control valves directly and further distribute them via hoses and tubes. The main advantage of these fluid power components is that they are capable of carrying large amount of power through small tubes and flexible hoses.
On the other hand, pneumatics fluid power are used when the gases are pressurized to effect mechanical motion. They are used widely in many industries where it is common to have factory units plumbed for compressed air and are considerably cheaper to build and operate.
The main difference between the two types of fluid power components is that while Pneumatics uses an easily compressible gas such as air or a suitable pure gas, hydraulics uses relatively incompressible liquid media such as oil.
Industry Trends & Scope Although Hydraulic and Pneumatic fluid power components can appear similar on the superficial level, there are many ways that forficate them from each other. Pneumatic equipments and components have a great scope in dentistry, construction, and mining industries. They are reliable and their functional control method is best suited for industrial processes. They are widely used in the processes that involve compressed air as the only source of energy source to be used for upgrading costs, safety, and other considerations. Hydraulic fluid devices are known as an integral part of the cylinder design that has a great scope in industrial uses.
The world fluid power industry has come a long way in recent times. Thanks to the implicit trend towards automation, the presence of fluid power products have been recognized. The major manufacturers and suppliers of fluid power devices are US, China, Germany, France, Mexico and Japan. These countries together account for around 60% of the total world trade in the fluid power market. US alone accounts for about 18 percent of the total export while China encompasses 5 percent of global share in its kitty. The China fluid power industry has recorded a growth of 17% and has generated sizable research and production system.
